A dynamic hip screw (DHS) is a hip fracture treatment. It consists of a large screw in the femur head and a plate sliding along the femoral neck held by smaller screws. Used for femoral neck and lesser trochanter fractures. Provides stable fixation but may lead to side effects. Permanent metal placement with rotational stability using an antirotation screw in the DHS technique.
