What is Cryptocurrency Airdropping?

Airdrops are issued by companies that wish to raise the profile of a new product they are releasing in order to speed up their ICO (Initial Coin Offering) so they offer free cryptocurrency (coins) to users that spread their message via social media, in order to build as much exposure to their coin as soon as possible.

I have found nearly all new coin releases hold back some of their coins that will be put up for sale for this very purpose, to them the coin has little value when it’s released it’s how the coin is perceived after it’s release as to where the value comes from, so by giving a million or so coins away the cost in paying for that in advertising would be too big a cost to the company, so they airdrop to spread the word.

What does it cost me?

A very simple answer there is no cost to you, none at all. The only thing they want is for you to spread their message of the newly released coins on as many social media platforms as you can, and in doing so they will give you coins for doing it. The values of the Bounties as they are called vary from as little as pennies to hundreds of Pounds/Dollars.

So to the average person it’s a win win project if you have some spare time, have a laptop, pc, or mobile phone you can take part, do not expect to become a millionaire overnight, that will not happen, but gradually you will begin seeing coins in your wallets, so you will have cryptocurrency without any outlay, now if one of those coins are the next bitcoin! imagine a hundred free bitcoins right now!

I felt compelled to write this post today as I transferred a tiny bit of chainlink #link to my metamask wallet and OK I expect a small fee to pay which from coinbase to Metamask the transaction took less than two minutes.

So one of the things i've found with Decentralized Finance #DeFI coins is that the value rises so quickly so for something that when it is released costs but a few cents, and rapidly like in months coins are then trading for a dollar or more, which is huge. So why pay $100 for 100 coins when getting in early will get you a 1,000.

So i txfered my bit of link to Metamask and wanted to purchase some new YFI Coins there's been a few released over the last couple of weeks and you can find all the latest coin releases here https://coinmarketcap.com/new/ always worth giving this a look at once a week.

Metamask charge eth fees to swap one coin to another, so now i've paid my coinbase fee and now metamask want to charge me another fee, which in my eyes was nothing less that astronomical for exchanging $65 of link they wanted $22.54 dollars for a slow transaction up to $40.00 for a fast one which in essence means a guaranteed transaction.

Now you see why the fees could kill the growth of #defi exchanges, Dapps are moving forward and people can become rich, especially those that bought into #Uniswap #UNI early on.

So this is just a warning to all instead of just clicking accept the fees when making a transfer and if the txfer is pretty much the value of the coin being transferred it may just be worth leaving it on the exchange where you purchased it originally.

I personally think for DEFI to thrive the fees need to be reduced and drastically I didn't go ahead with mine due to the costs, and I suspect millions of others are dropping out as well.

My ideas are either a set fee or a max fee of say $5.00 but scaled up to $5.00 as this will encourage use and will see defi rapidly grow, for now i'm just going to carry on buying but leaving on the exchanges such as Coinabase and Binance as this seems the cheapest option with the current trading conditions.

i've enclosed a graph of the top coins in DeFi today so you can see what I mean how quick they are growing in value.

Ethereum is going Crazy Crazy Crazy today rises of over $300.00 in hours now trading at $1433.00 per coin that's an All Time High and showing no sign of stopping.

A great question what is DeFi?

DeFi means Decentralized Application - that doesn't mean much to the average person?

So the difference between CeFi - Centralized Finance means they are all exchange based, so KYC is a must, everything is pretty much visible as per the agreements with a normal bank.

DeFi is different as there's no one exchange where all your details are kept, there's no need for KYC, which in the boom of 2018 turned a lot off Crypto as there was and is a need for privacy.

Let me now introduce you to Defi
Chainlink in 2017 was worth per coin $0.09 cents current prices of @chainlink are now $20.00 and rising daily, fueled by Ethereum which is the way most coins are purchased, do this two ways either buy through your normal exchange such as Coinbase or buy direct via Uniswap which is reported to be a 5 times unicorn, and they are doing so well an IPO is about to be released.
